SIR BOBBY CHARLTON was an important DAM supporter
Sir Bobby Charlton was a great and important Supporter of Drive Against Malaria since 1999. With great sadness one of Britain's most gifted footballers passed away Saturday. The attacking midfielder spent much of is career at Manchester United. He died aged 86.
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Sir Bobby passed peacefully in the early hours of Saturday morning. "We are very thankful of his care, support and contribution to our missions in Africa."
Sir Bobby Charlton took the opportunity to meet David Robertson in Gabarone – Botswana during the press campaign and malaria mission.
We will be forever grateful to a man we looked up to and was a hero to many around the world.
"In Africa he was a great inspiration during the press conference with Minister Of Sport Tony Banks Botswana 1999 at the start of the Southern African leg."
A true great will be remembered forever.
Thank you Sir Bobby. DAM.
